Our Kiwanis club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Additionally, we have speakers at our semi-monthly luncheons to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth. The sponsors listed on the page have been critical to assisting us in our work. We thank them and hope you will consider their services in the future!
Below are our recent community service projects and financial contributions:
- College Scholarships – Interview and award 80 students with $260,000 in college scholarships annually.
- Service Leadership Programs – Sponsor school-based leadership clubs: CKI Club at Palm Beach Atlantic University; Key Clubs at Dryfoos and Forest Hill; Builders Clubs at Bak Middle School and St. Juliana Catholic School; K-Kids at Meadow Park, Timber Trace, and South Olive Elementary Schools.
- Read monthly at St. Olive Elementary school.
- Speak Up for Kids - Provided laptop computers to foster children who struggle with schoolwork due to the lack of technology.
- Palm Beach Family Court - Provide books and stuffed animals for Judges to distribute to small children for comfort during court appearances.
- Children in Foster Care - Annually provide bicycles and helmets.
- Quantum House - Prepare and serve meals to guests with children in treatment at St. Mary’s hospital.
- Back to Basics - Provide school uniforms, clothing, and Christmas gifts to needy children.
- PBC Literacy Coalition – Annual contribution
- Covenant Villas WPB Lending Library in Belle Glade - Provide literacy support through donations and school supplies.
- Kiwanis Children’s Fund and Florida Kiwanis Foundation – Annual contributions
- Children and Family Charity, Inc. - “Adopt” families to provide food, clothing, and gifts for all family members.
- Drowning Prevention - Fund drowning prevention programs to underserved community.
